New Invitation lines arriving soon!

Occasions is always searching for high quality invitation stationery products to provide to our customers. We are introducing two new product lines and are very excited to share them with our customers. These new invitation lines are expected some time in early February. These invitations provide custom hand-layering, totally new papers, ink colors, lettering styles and embellishments. We listen to our customers. They love the shimmery, pearlized papers, the rhinestone accents, ribbons and such. If you are looking for something unique other than what is typically offered, you will definitely be interested in checking out these lines before you make your final wedding invitation selection.

Remember, the invitation is your opening act so to speak of the entire wedding day. Make sure your invitation ensemble is classy, sophisticated and genuinely reflects the type of wedding ceremony and wedding reception you have been planning for all year.

Eagle Eye Bridal Show 2008

The Eagle Eye Bridal Show held on Sunday, January 6, 2008 was a great show. The attendance at the show increased from the 2007 show. Watch for pictures from this year's Eagle Eye show on this blog.

This is one of my favorite shows to attend as a vendor. The venue itself is a perfect setting for a wedding. I would highly recommend the Eagle Eye Golf Club venue for your wedding day reception. The beautiful porch setting overlooking the lake provides a perfect view of sunsets on those warm summer evenings.

We are looking forward to the upcoming Grand Ledge Opera House show on February 17, 2008, beginning at 11:00am until 4:00pm. Come out and visit our booth.

Occasions will also be participating in the Women's Expo in Brighton, Michigan at Genoa Woods, located at 7707 Conference Center Drive. This show will be in April, 2008.

The 2008 Bridal Show Season is Almost Here

This 2008 Bridal Show season will be a busy one for Occasions. First, the Eagle Eye Show on January 6th, possibly the Genanoa Woods show in Brighton at the end of January and the Grand Ledge Opera House show in February.

If you are a prospective Bride, make sure you take time out on your weekend to attend a bridal show or two in your area. It is a perfect way to meet local vendors. Many vendors pull out all stops at these shows. It's an opportunity to taste cake and other delightful food from area caterers; relax and take a moment off your feet to watch a lovely bridal fashion show; listen to a host of DJ's spin their tunes; and of course, check out photographers and invitation consultants.

Take your planner book with you. You will want to collect business cards from vendors you are interested in contacting after the show. Take pre-printed name and address labels to leave on vendor cards for giveaways or to leave with a vendor for contact later. Collect as much information as you can, but please, don't leave that bag of information sitting on your countertop for weeks following the show. Review it when you have some quiet time, share the information with other friends getting married, and contact the vendors you want to meet with. Finally, place the information in an organized planner or file for later retrieval. You will be glad you did.

As a kick-off to the Bridal Show Season, Occasions is offering a 15% discount on wedding invitations ordered through its http://www.occasions.cceasy.com/ website. This discount covers web orders only and we will be offering this for a short time, through February 2008. So, get busy, start previewing invitations and order a sample or two (samples not discounted) to help you with your decision making. We offer fast turn around time and great customer service!

See you at the Bridal Shows!

Invitations - The silent yet important element of the wedding

Why would an invitation be the important but silent element of the wedding?

The invitation is that part of wedding planning that gives the receiver of the invite the first impression of your event. It is silent because in its elegance, it is not out there in the spotlight when the important date arrives, unlike the decorated reception hall, the table settings, the music, the beautiful bride and handsome groom making their grand entrance. Yet, when the guest receives your special invitation in the mail, it is typically received and responded to in joy...of course we will be attending your wedding day! In today's world of IMS, email, junk mail and bills, isn't it a treat to receive an invitation addressed to you??

Consider this, the invitation you choose speaks volumes about your individual tastes. The paper weight, the elegant font or calligraphy on the invitation and envelopes, even the specially selected postage stamp for your invitation indicates to your guests the style of your wedding.

In all the busyiness of wedding planning, remember that the invitation is as important as the rest of the planning. For if if weren't for the invitation, who would be participating in all the grandeur you have been planning for months?
